driver.cab corrupted during integrating hotfixes packs

during the process of nlite at the integration stage of hotfixes, packs and themes a box popped up saying driver.cab is corrupted...fisished the rest of nlite then after i burned disk, i ran the windows pro 2000 disk, after formating the HD, the blue screen saying value in .sif file used by setup is corrupt.

value 0 on the line in section [sourcedisksfiles.x86] with key "mscomctl.ocx

cant continue 3 to quit

whats the problem and how to fix, any ideas?

Hi there,

I am having similar problems to you. Whenever I use my Windows XP Service Pack 2 CD with nLite, it always gives me 2 errors. One says that the CAB file in the i386 directory of the Windows XP installation files is corrupted and then the preceding error, which I assume is related to the first error, reads: "CabLib Extract ERROR while extracting files from cabinet archive: Corrupt cabinet."

I am no nLite Pro, and there probably is a simple explanation for this, so if there is, please tell me. I'm sorry I can't solve your problem Diablo1, but I think that someone is bound to solve it eventually. Keep searching the net, you may just find a solution! :D

macfanboy and diablo1, I suspect you have violated one or more of my inculcations, so, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. One line of thinking (not necessarily true) would be that it is a CD read/write error, since that is the largest file and most easily hit by a bad bit. :wacko:

But welcome to you to this forum. :hello:

My advice would be to re-copy the files from your original XP CD, and/or verify the CD's integrity. Check your computer for viruses, and (as a last resort) temporarily disable your antivirus while working with nLite (there were some reports in the past that AV programs interfered with nLite's operation).
