  1. added all these hotfixes below including IE7, Adobe reader, powerpoint. also added drivers all the folders and files came to around 718 mb.. what can i delete safely from the folder and files... i deleted the folder cmpnents. need to delete another 10mb or little bit more. whats safe to delete???? hope i dont need the cmpnents folder i cant burn it to DVD for some reason my laptop doesnt read burned boot DVD's too well. reads them very slow. the last DVD i slipstreamed for my laptop the install stopped at 9 minutes left and stayed there.. cd's work better . wish my laptop read DVDS better No it was not, i checked that. in administrative themes was started and set to automatic... i dont know why when windows boots up its on the default setting windows classic when i set it to windows xp   3. i picked both default and windows xp style in two separate nlite trys, in the desktop theme tab of nlite unattended .. no matter what desktop theme i pick in nlite 1.41, once the installation is installed the desktop theme stay on windows classic there is not any option to pick windows xp style from the drop down menu in display properties themes??

  7. just finished nliting a windows xp pro sp2 CD. after installing the nlite version of windows xp pro added 5 drivers... -hpf840k.inf,0 -Hpgblsti.inf,0 -ctgame2k.inf,0 -ULTRA.INF,0 -NCBULK.INF,0 picked provide defaults added these addon RVMUpdatePack2.1.9.7z NR_IE7en_Addon_1.0.3b.wr.7z IE7 vs 7.0.5730.11 ProgramAddons_Adobe_Reader_8.0.cab ProgramAddons_Microsoft_PowerPoint_Viewer.cab 2007 ProgramAddons_Windows_Media_Player_11.0.5721.5145.cab when i took the nlite windows xp pro CD out of dvd-rom the icon from the dvd-rom stayed as the windows xp disc icon even when i changed cd's the dvd-rom icon still shows the windows xp pro disc icon.. for example, when i put in my compuserve disc in dvd-rom drive it should show the compuserve logo but stills shows the windows xp pro disco logo .ico. albeit when i remove the discs it goes to the normal dvd-rom picture what up?! thanks
  8. i read alot of instructions but still cant figure out how to add it to the OS with nlite... all i know is i have the reg file but dont know where it goes? i can guess it goes in a $OEM$ made folder but dont know where and dont know what commands i have to write somewhere, as for the runonce have??? i havent any clue where the code goes or where to place it in somewhere: regedit /s copytomoveto.reg l i noticed runonce in nlite unattended section i can put this command: regedit /s copytomoveto.reg phkninja provided but where does the copytomoveto.reg file go i cant find a step by step guide

  17. i entered the serial number to my windows 2000 pro project. i also selected provide defaults, and during an install the serial number shows inside the box that pops up.... by what youre saying is, that it shouldnt have popped up and been visible... but thats what i was looking for in my window xp disc.. i entered the serial number, picked provide defaults and the serial box didnt pop up on install.. why the difference... are you saying it shouldnt have popped up with the serial number in the win 2000 pro disc??? is there a way to get it with the serail number in it and pop up to show the serial like in a ESD piece of software or some retail software...

  19. i nlited my windows 2000 pro. In nlite's unattended mode i picked provide defaults and entered product serial key. When i installed the nlited operating system CD i just made, i got to the point in the install where the product serial key was visible in the add serial cd key box . this box popped up during install when i did the same thing for my windows xp pro i couldnt get the serial key box to be visible in the install process.. the product serial key box didnt pop up why, i wanted it to... i picked provide defaults.. i thought the product serail key box would pop up but it didnt, how can i get the serial to be visible like in my win 2000 pro???
  20. i ran a procedure thru nlite, picked my service packs , hotfixes, etc.. picked direct burn , said its bootable with direct burn. disc is not bootable. what went wrong???? can i run the same stuff thru nlite again to get to the burn section to reburn it or do i have to start all over again. running it thru nlite again wont screw it up
  21. thats good to know... i assumed it wasnt updated so much! on the add-ons i tried several when i did my nlite of windows 2000 and always stopped and froze up at registering components on windows installing with errors 7-zip failed.. when i do the nlite of windows sp2 and add ryans hotfixes what are the some add-on to add to the nlite that are safe? can i add both addons that end in .cab and .7z thanks for the updates- R thanks
  22. im going to do xp pro... going to slipstream sp2 and add all the other hotfixes... if i add ryans hotfix pack to nlite... what other hotfixes are left then to add to nlite .... im assuming ryans pack doesnt include them all .. what date does the hotfix pack end at? where did he leave off and where do i start at to insert the other hotfixes not in the pack??? thanks
  23. in the guide says use the latest hotfixes? how far back can i go to add hotfixes into nlite.. is there a cutoff date that hotfixes cant be added
