army20
Hello,Can I use only 1 CAT5(e) wire for telephone line and ethernet ? Or will it cause interferences in the signal ?I know brown and white-brown, blue and white-blue are not used in 10/100 ethernet so i'm planing to put my phone line on theses wires.-M

jcarle
You may get away with running the telephone signal on the unused pairs in 10/100 configurations. The quality of your cable will be a direct influence as to how successful you are though.Another thing to keep in mind is that is you do so, you'll never be able to run 10/100/1000 on the same ethernet cables because that uses all four pairs.
