What is the purpose of this tool?

imagecfg changes the version record of an PE executable. E.g. if you enter "imagecfg -v 5.1 ntoskrnl.exe" in Windows 2000, XP is to be faked via that the OS itself says: I am 5.1. Of course you can change the record of ANY PE.
