KNARZ Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I have a another question.i really like vlite, but i also want to do slim-down my vista by hand......so how i can slim my install.wim by hand?! which tools are needed and how?or... how does vlite do?i didn't like nlite because of all the "created with nlite" comments and editing files which aren't nessesary for installation..
FarCry3r Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 install vLite, and play with those settings in there, there's alot you can REMOVE from Vista. I'm currently using vLite'd Vista Ultimate x86 and vLite managed to slimmed it down to 650MB only...
KNARZ Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 great answer... it has nothing to do with my question
tester_pedro Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 "quickreply":vlite mounts install.wim from vista dvd, deletes some files you choose, changes files that works like catalogs, that tell the installer what to install. that's it.try to download waik (windows automated installation kit > hope it is right ) from microsoft and look for tools imagex and peimg.I played with it only a bit, but it is easy, so test it yourself.
