iuli_kyle Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Is someone here who can help me change the logon screen directly form Windows CD ? I used the reg with UIHost, but it doesn't work. Than i replaced logonui.ex_ from the cd with the logon i wanted to use ( i used makecab, PExplorer and modifyPE to make the *.ex_ file ).This will bring the classic logon screen !Are needed some extra reg tweaks ? If someone can help me, pls post 'cuz i need help !

rajesh.kumar Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 did u copy that logonui.exe from a working xp? if so, this should have worked.if u have downloaded the file, try it in an existing installation.

The result:Classic logon screenYeah... thet is because u have forgot to change the regs.try this after u will copy your LogonUi.exe[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]"UIHost"="C:\\Windows\\System32\\LogonUI.exe"Please make sure that you will specify the corect path to the LogonUI.exe cause if the path is not correct the OS will bring you the "Classic Logon"And... forgive my english
