msn problem

hey, i'm facing a weird problem for my msn messenger.after i click on it, it doesn't appear and i found in the task manager it does running in the processes. what wrong with it? i use my anti-virus and anti-spyware to scan it also nothing happen. it had bother me for a whole day. i need help!

my housemate also have the same problem as well. but she is more lucky than me, sometimes she able to connect, but not more than 30 minutes, the messenger went hang and nothing can do about it. Help!!

Are you using the Windows Messenger that comes with Windows XP, or MSN Messenger, or Windows Live Messenger? If one of the latter two, try reinstalling it. If that doesn't work, take a look in your Event Log Viewer (Start > Run > eventvwr) under Application and see if anything from today relates to the problem. If you find anything, post the error ID and description here.

i'm not sure about what you mean about the error ID, but under the application it does have the event Id, 1002 and the description is here:

i'm using window live messenger.. i dont know whether this info can help you in solving my problem or not.. so sorry for being not understand with this kind of computer term.. if not, i gonna format my laptop.. i think that is the only way that i know.

Do not format, that's always a last resort. So the process runs in the background but it doesn't appear in the taskbar? And you tried reinstalling it?

yeah.. exactly as what you said.. the program is running in task manager..when i try to click it over and over again. at the task manager there appears many msnmessenger..

and they run in a high capacity.. i had try to re-install it plenty times.. but it doesn 't work, i already try to go msn website to download it.. the result still the same. i think is virus.. cause my laptop really slow, my wallpaper become dark then only appear.. really slow.. lag..
