g0t0 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I have a Windows xp/ sp3 cd i want to use on my laptop. But since it has Vista on it (i want it wiped out) XP cant find my hard drive. I figured to see about using nlite to intergrate a sata driver (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=88&t=85842) into my cd. Will nlite have any problems with my cd or do I have to use a non intergrated xp?Thanks
Ponch Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Where does it say your CD is Windows XP SP3 ?But since it has Vista on it (i want it wiped out) XP cant find my hard driveit is because of the SATA controler, not because of Vista. If you can integrate the drivers, you're ok.
g0t0 Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Where does it say your CD is Windows XP SP3 ?It was given to me with other updates on it outside of sp2. is there a good guide to allow me to integrate the driver i need?
bledd Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 there is no official sp3, what you have is probably a badly put together hotfix pack!try it and see if nlite accepts it (it may not, i dont know), find out what sata controller you have and extract it with winrar or 7zip, then integrate it with nlite
