AntiKris
Hey guys, I'm trying to install the realtek ac97 drivers on x64 vista. I keep getting the security message referring to the fact that the driver's not signed, so I don't think it's installing. I've hit "install anyway" about fifty times thus far, but, like all good microsoft products, I think it's ignoring what I clearly want it to do, and is going with what it thinks best... namely, not installing. I've looked through the forum posts, but haven't found a clear answer. Is there a way to get this driver installed, and tell Vista to STFU while doing it? Any help appreciated!Chris

AntiKris
Thanks, I tried that. However, I'm still getting the annoying "Windows Can't Verify the Publisher of this Driver Software" message every fifteen seconds or so. Eventually, I can slug through it, but it doesn't appear that the driver is installed after all of that.Anyone else?

cluberti
Did you download the drivers directly from Realtek? I had trouble with vendor drivers, but the Realtek drivers themselves installed just fine on x64.
kabl00ey
Have you checked to ensure that the onboard AC97 is enabled in the BIOS? I had the exact same problem (with the constant popup) and after about an hour of mucking about I discovered I hadn't enabled it in the BIOS. I hate integrated sound!
