Hacked Logonui.exe detected during installation

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have just hacked some dll and exe files for my unattended windows xp sp2 cd. For all of them, I havent got any problems expect for one : logonui.ex_ (correct name in compressed form)

some of the files i have modified are:

WINNT32U.DLL

WINNTBBA.DLL

WINNTBBU.DLL

WINNT32A.DLL

SHELL32.DL_

NTOSKRNL.EX_

LOGONUI.EX_

..

With only logonui.ex_ , windows setup reports that the file is not valid. It should be noted that this file works perfectly on another windows xp machine installed with the same windows cd (same build, same conditions)

***Setup Error***

The file logonui.exe was not copied correctly.

The file Setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid Windows XP system image. If you are installing from a CD, there may be a problem with the Windows XP CD.

****

The question of bad CD doesnt arouse since I am using a bootable windows image under VMware ( a virtualisation software.)

I have tried the file size in layout.inf (windows checks file size in the layout, inf to see if the files are corrupted or not, but i still get this problem).

I wonder why only this file is being spotted while the other modified one arent :S

Please provide any help.

Thank you.
