I have an HP dv9225 with Ultimate 64 bit.

I'm pretty PC knowledgeable yet no matter what I do my notebook has insomnia.

Nothing is set to wake the computer yet when I press sleep it goes through the motions & when it shuts down, it does it only for a split second then fires right back up.

When the computer goes to sleep according to the power plan settings it also does the same thing mentioned above.

So anyone have a clue as to why it's doing this?

Thanks.

Awesome!!! Finally my computer can sleep. I've been trying to figure this out all this time.

I just disabled "Allow this device to wake the computer" and it works.

It is found in Device Manager --> Right click your keyboard --> Properties --> Power Management tab --> uncheck "Allow this device..."

Do this for both Keyboard and Mouse.

Although only my mouse is wireless, I had to do it for the keyboard too to get it to work.
