TV Tuner (picture but no sound)

Featured Replies

Hi Teamsters,

I have been trying to get my internal TV Tuner card to work but all I get is picture but no sound.

it's a DVB-TV Sat/Sat-CI DVB-TV 2.431 Skymaster card. that's about all I can get from the Manual. I noticed that Vista downloads new drivers for it (DVB-TV 878) but everytime they install I get a bluescreen error.

I have borrowed a USB TV Tuner and same deal, I get picture but no audio.

Is anyone having the same problems?

Any input would be most welcomed.

Cheers,

J

dumb question, but do you have your audio driver installed? also what program are you using? check the preferences to make sure that your sound card has'nt been muted, enable everything for it. now what you really need to do is find the manufacturer's driver for your card, its a high possibility that its a problem with the vista driver. has this card worked in xp or have you not tried?

My TV Tuner has an audio out plug and a short audio cable that goes from there to my sound card's input. Not sure if yours needs that though, as mine is few years old. Hope it helps all the same. :thumbup

well if the tv tuner has an audio out, then try plugging your speakers into this. if this works then you will need to use that short cable to connect the two cards.

Hiya,

Thanks for responding.

I can't see that there is a cord that needs to be connected to the soundcard. It happens on both TV Tuners, the usb one pulls in fantastic picture but, no sound. And the internal TV Tuner does the same thing. Both worked perfectly on XP Pro.

I have attached pictures of the internal one, both sides. Just incase someone has the same one and can direct me to the appropriate website.

Many thanks,

J
