LeveL Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 The WAIK is not downloadable anymore from this link...http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/6...5-LRMAIK_EN.img... and if you search for the WAIK on MS Downloads all you get is:Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) User's Guide for Windows VistaI can get it on torrents of course but I just wondered if theres any HTTPlink from MS themselves, I never trust torrents.
Issy1993 Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Sorry forn the somewhat noob question, but what is the function of WAIK?
enuffsaid Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 (edited) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=enSorry, that's the guide... Let me search a bit more. I got it from them just the other day. Edited February 9, 2007 by enuffsaid
pfarrell4 Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 There was a new version of the WAIK put up on 2/5/07 that was broken. Every time you tried to install it, it would get halfway done, then ask for the CD. Many people were reporting the same problem. I called Microsoft yesterday to tell them, but they weren't very responsive--they wanted to charge me $99 to open a support incident. My guess is they've realized it and are updating the file with a working copy.
enuffsaid Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I wasn't aware of that glitch you describe pfarrell4. Good first post by the way. Welcome to MSFN.I did use WAIK to install WDS on Win2k3 and had no problems, but my guess is I was using the one they posted before Feb 2nd. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled on the update. Thanks pfarrel.'nuff
