jpln Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I have a Windows and Office XP pc.When I open Word, I get the message:'The drive or network connection that the shortcut ‘Resource Page.lnk refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again.'Any ideas how to fix this please?
Jeremy Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Do you access Microsoft Office from a mapped network drive?
enuffsaid Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 If you double click Winword.exe in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 folder. Do you still get that error? As Jerry said, it could be that your Office installation is on a network drive. It could also be that your Office has been installed from a network location and when you run Office apps for the first time they need to complete the user part of the installation and need access to the original files. Can you update us a bit?
jpln Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 Thanks, both for your replies. Yes, the Office install is pulled from a shared drive.I will uninstall it and run the install from CD to see if this helps. Thanks again and I'll let you know the outcome.
jpln Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 I have unistalled Office XP, run some cleanup software and then installed Office XP from the CD but the error still remains.Any idea what causes the break in the link to the specified file?
