nnicko Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Hi everyone! For the last several weeks I’ve been getting the annoying pop-up "Local Area Connection A network cable is unplugged" on the right side of my task bar. I mean it was constantly popping up and then going away. I searched the web for answers and made several calls to Verizon. I use their MSN Premium browser. It’s their version of IE. We did all sorts of things but none of them helped. Then I found Microsoft Article ID : 910389 at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910389 .I followed their instructions for changing the value that was set for the Media Type property on the network adapter. I tried 100Mbps Full Duplex but that didn’t work for me. When I changed it to 10Mbps Full Duplex – Bingo! No more annoying pop-ups! I don’t know which setting will work for you (if any) but it worked for me and it’s worth giving it a try (unless of course, you like constant pop-ups on your screen). I wanted to make this a sticky but I don’t know how. Edited February 7, 2007 by nnicko
Jeremy Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 You're using MSN Explorer? You must be one of the few users on the planet still using that out-dated, built-in with Windows trash. Use Opera or Firefox.Glad to see you figured it out. I believe only mods and above can make stickies.
