Skinning Win98

Hi to everyone.

I just came across TClock2, since I like TClock I gave it a try.

The only trouble is that in TClock I can modify my Start-Button as I please, but it lacks the function of making the tray and taskbar things flat.

In TClock2 I can make the tray look flat, but neither the Start-Button nor the task things.

(I think this is because I use Explorer.exe from Win95.)

And it since I don't want to run both at once...

So my questions are:

Which Registry Entries are used to do that?

Does anyone know?

Or is there a way to do make a Explorer.exe hack (would be even better)?

Thx a lot in advance.

Have you tried TClock3? You'll probably have to run the Win98 Explorer, but it might be able to skin the whole taskbar with a WindowBlinds skin (download a skin, rename the .wba to .zip and extract it, run TClock3, enable "full skinning", and click the big button to import the WindowBlinds .uis file that was extracted).

@ awergh

Which parameters need to be changed?

@ patchworks

Are you sure this is the right link?

There is neither a Registry key nor parameters for explorer.exe.

@ WildBill

Don't want to run Win98 Explorer.

Tclock Light seems to be the solution. But I still want to make it "hardcore" ....

Thx anyway.

  • 1 month later...
you have to edit the bitmaps in explorer with reshack or similar

to do this

Nope, that wouldn't do it. The bitmaps aren't the problem.

Maybe someone who understands C/C++ could help out. Since I don't understand the source of TClock light.

THX
