Networking with XP (share files)

Featured Replies

Im sharing files over my LAN however people running XP cannot access my shared files. I can access theirs though. When trying to access the Vista computers shared files from an XP machine they will get a message that the user has not got the rights to access. How to I resolve this?

try this it may work not sure though.. go to control panel>Folder options then View tab, scroll down till u find use sharing wizard.. remove the check from there.. try now!!

if you have tight security settings you'll have to make a user account giving access to said xp machine.

Did not help :(

What do mean by tight security? It seems like the XP machine tried to "logon" through an account that has no rights .But I have only my personal Admin account on the Vista machine.

You must disable the sharing password

if ur on a WORKGROUP then u have to set a same usernames and passwords on both.. if u disable the password on them or one of them it will not work.. both has to have same user names with same passwords..
