jaclaz Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Yes, I mis-wrote my thought, if you copy an already made install on a CF card, the latter must be formatted and bootable BEFORE.If you install directly to the CF card, the formatting is done during install, so it is NOT needed before.jaclaz
slimeballzz Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 (edited) I think I found how to share to specific users on my network (article here: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharin...ring/whole.htm). Problem is the "Local Users and Groups" in Computer Management does not exist and "User accounts" in the Control Panel doesn't work.Any idea which option(s) in nLite enables user accounts and "Local Users and Groups" in Computer Management? jmeyer Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 I have done the same and would like some info on this subject.I have my main Dell machine running XP Pro on 1 HD connected to a network switch. On Computer 2 it has 4 IDE hard drives - Drive 1=4 Gigs with xp only the other 3 drives hold data. I have the 3 drives that hold data marked as shortcuts on the dell desktop, so all I have to do is click on the desktop short cut link and it opens the HD on the other machine. And since this machine is on the home network any one can access it until I put encryption software on it. Now what I want to know is if this is a Good Setup or should I go like the other guys "Trash Everything and put Linux or FreeNas on the 4 Gig Hard Drive"Let me know what you think because I have not finished yet, I am looking to build a set up like http://www.stefandidak.com/office/I know he has gone over board but, man what a Setup and Network
