b0r3d Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 Could someone please direct me to a website that has a guide on setting up and configuring IIS?I'd like to make a small little intranet webapge on my server at home, so i can easilly navigate through all my setup files that i store on it. Its a hassle filtering through literally hundreds of executable set up files that are all defaultly named to something regarding anyhing but what the program is, or does.
DaveXP Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 Install IIS in Windows Compoents which is under Add and Remove Programs and then use the Documention that installs with it.
b0r3d Posted September 28, 2003 Author Posted September 28, 2003 The documentation isnt very useful.I'm also exploring the possibilities of Apache, that way i can use php scripts to easilly update it etc.
Tinker Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 Internet Information Services 6.0 Support Center I hope this helps...I find this to be very confusing myself. Please keep us posted as to you progress.
b0r3d Posted September 28, 2003 Author Posted September 28, 2003 I've decided to give IIS the flick, and concentrate on getting Apache configured properly with php4 and mysql. Thanks for the site though.
Computer_Junky Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 IIS is alot easier to install and config, Apache is more complicated when it comes to loading Mods. If you want something simple go with IIS. Which version you running??B
