triggerwoods
DEP stops 'My Music' opening every time I try.I've tried the various options laid out in the help section of the messafe that appears.I have no virus and all firewalls and virus checkers are fully up-to-date (well, as far as up-to-date as any are)This problem only started today and already I'm pulling my hair out.Any help is MUCH MUCH appreciated. CoffeeFiend
I've seen DEP cause all kinds of problems like that before. The main solution: disable DEP.
triggerwoods
Tried that I'm afraid.....In the only place I know how.Ie, start...control panel....System...Advanced....performance settings...DEPStill no joy
CoffeeFiend
Try editing your boot.ini, add /noexecute=AlwaysOff and reboot. That should fix it. If the problems persist, then it's not DEP.

cluberti
Usually when you see this issue on a shell folder like "My Music", it's because of s third party application or codec that causes the problem. See if it works in safe mode .
