SteevWatson Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 HiI'm going to be given a free copy of Vista Home Premium from my work. I was just wondering if you think my T4010 lifebook would be able to run it ok? I know it won't be able to run aero because of the graphics card. But do you think it will be able to cope with the rest? Thanks Steve
luke.mccormick Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 whats a t4010? i couldn't tell you, i might be able to if you could list your specs.
SteevWatson Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Hisorry you're right i should have included my specs. It has a 1.8ghz centrino and 1gb ram. The graphics card is an integrated Intel 855GME with 64mb ram. further details can be found in this data sheet http://vilpublic.fujitsu-siemens.com/vil/p...ebook_t4010.pdfThanks Steve
Biohead Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 It should run it fine. It runs decently on my 1.73Ghz Centrino.
BoardBabe Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I believe it is recommended to have 128mb GPU memory. I am running Vista perfectly fine on my Acer TravelMate 8000 series, laptop.Specs.Intel Pentium M 2,0 GHz1,5Gb DDR PC2700 RAMATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MbSeagate 80Gb HD 7200 RPM 8Mb
nitroshift Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I believe it is recommended to have 128mb GPU memory.True, in order to enjoy the aero experience. If you don't mind not using it, 64MB of graphics RAM is OK.
