mikesw Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 (edited) How does one go about disabling an admin(2nd adminstrator) or non-admin (regular user) from being able to usefor example ( a ) USB drive port, (b ) floppy drive, ( c ) CD drive, or the wireless card and yet the other admin (me)can still use it?Another thing would be how to give the other users the capability to use the above devices but restrict them toonly being able to read from them, but not write to them (The are not read-only devices) whiles't I (the admin)would be able to write to them?WinXP Home or Pro Edited January 16, 2007 by mikesw
Woomera Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 you can do that via NTFS security and permissions.type "NTFS SECURITY" in your windows help and click on the first result.you can also define QUOTA's for the users.again search for "QUOTA" in windows help and click on the first result.
