just_laze
Hello,I have 3 machines, they're all networked via a wired solution (router).Browsing any other machine from mine is incredibly sluggish (mine being the only one that has my installation on) and I'm trying to identify what's the cause.I have disabled the hidden adminstrative shares, this wouldn't impact network browsing speed, would it? I have noticed that without them, machines aren't immediately browsable, I'm sure before disabling adminstrative shares they were? Now I need a share on each machine in order to be able to see it/access it.Are there any known causes for a slow down?Thanks.laze. Marthax
I've been trying to figure out my network probs. to that are related with "too much nliting" . I guess that the only way to find out, unless somebody hasn't been there before you, is using the trial and error method. Apply the tweaks you use successively until you stumble across your problem. I know it takes sometime, but it's worth it if you want nice, nlited XP.
beeker
Not sure if this is your problem, but I found this reg tweak somewhere in MSFN. I can't remember the details.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace\{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}]
