WMP9 contradiction?

Per http://hfslip.org

HFSLIP is also capable of slipstreaming....

Windows Media Player 9 (Windows 2000)

but according to http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=57659
Windows 2000 specific features:....

* It slipstreams the WMP 9/10 codecs (not the player).

Well, which is it?

EDIT: I think I edit everything I post. I would take this to mean that the WMP10 player can of course not be installed on Windows 2000, but I just noticed I am running WMP 6.4, so I wanted to clarify.

EDIT 2: Tomcat, I just looked at your dynamic hotfix list and realized I forgot to slipstream MPSetup.exe.

2K doesn't support wmp10 ... yup you need to slipstream MPSetup.exe, as well as wmfdist.exe ;) Edited by Kiki Burgh

Just updated the main sticky... Hope things are a little clearer now... :)

I recommend to include wmfdist.exe when slipstreaming WMP9 as Kiki pointed out, but it isn't a necessity. The codec files in wmfdist.exe are already part of the WMP9 package; they are just newer.
