halcyon026
nlite made my media center image xp pro. Here's the deal, I put my media center OEM cd in, put the files on the hard drive.Load nlite, point it to my media center files, go through all the custom settings I want. Then i get the finished Image. When I use that image to install with, the PC says its XP Pro. I right click on my computer and it shows xp pro sp2!!Anyone know whats causing this? Thanks! bledd
copy cd1 and cd2 to c:\xpcdall contents of both, note it will be larger than 700mb (cd size)select component removal, and choose the MCE Compatability option, remove some things so it'll fit (you can remove loads obviously)make sure to use your MCE cd key in the unattended section, mce with an xp pro key only installs xp pro
halcyon026
AHHH! that must be the issue. I used the cd key's microsoft supplies for system builders to use as just to get past the install point. There list didnt have media center so i used the Pro key.Is there a media center cd used to get through the install and later you can change it to the real key you need? halcyon026
Actually I didnt have to use cd 1 & 2. Just cd 1 and I changed the CD key in nlite. That fixed it.
Kiljaeden
I used a great piece of software called Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder to find out the key used by my laptop's manufacturer. I used that key instead of the one on CoA sticker.See here too: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...mp;#entry427446 Edited January 10, 2007 by Kiljaeden
