Hi, I am so hoping someone can help me. I dont know what i clicked on or changed by accident, but every time I open a new MS word document, the cursor goes ALL the way to the top of the page to start typing. Even though all my margins are set to 1" all the way around....what did i do wrong? Thanks so much!

Welcome to MSFN

You just simply over write the default settings for the application

I will reinstall MS Word and feed you back for the exact option you missed with

are the margins still set at 1" (in the page setup)?

if so, are you in the "print layout" view? (view --> print layout). this is the only view that shows the margins (white space) all round the page

Yes all margins are 1", no its not in print layouit, its when I open a new document that it does this. I tried iverwriting defaults, but it didnt fix it.

Thanks

what view are you looking at? Under view menu: Normal, Web Layout, Print Layout, Reading Layout, or Outline? If you want to see the margins on screen you should be in Print Layout view mode.

Actually, you're margins are fine. What I think you've done is you've hidden the white space between the pages. See the attached image.

What you have to do to get that white space is click in the small gray area below the ruler and right above the page. You'll see a prompt that says either "Hide White Space" or "Show White Space". Click and you're done.
