Program to change talking voice?

A Realtime Audio effects program, that is, apply the effects in realtime on mic input, audio in cd or midi.

Sadly, this doesn't work on either Ventrilo or WXP build-in record program.

I have a friend that can change his voice to a robot or a kid when he's talking on Vent and I'm curious how to do it, but he doesn't want to tell me which program he used
