outlook downloads all emails everytime it connects to email server

hi! I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2003, and it was working well. But recently when I click the send/receive button, sometimes (not always, about once every 6 times), it downloads all the emails in my web email account, NOT just the new ones. Could anyone tell me what's the problem? The incoming email server is pop3.

You may want to contact your email provider. Who is it?

Have you tried deleting your OST file and having it redownload all your mail? Cached exchange mode? <- Although i don't think you'll have this on a POP3

hi! Thanks for the help! is OST file the file that stores all my downloaded emails? if so, i do not want to delete or replace it because there are much more downloaded emails than the emails in my web account.

Copy it somewhere safe then delete it (or rename it) check your email to see if it is still doing it. If that fixes it then just import your old emails from the copy you made.
