whakamaru
HiI was wondering if is was possible to remove all of the IE6 application and just have IE7 in a XP Professional environment.Would this be similar to removing IE from the Windows 2000 HFSLIP guide, or does XP still rely on parts of IE6 for the CP installtion.Just a thought. Would be interested if this was possible or not.
Kiki Burgh
hi whakamaru! i don't know if this is what you meant but there are ie6 core dependents that would be affected if you totally remove ie6 ... & indeed the guide by fdv in removing ie would be a very great source ... you may try using fdv's, tommyp's & oleg's file sets to remove ie (& some more ) & just try to see if you could still install ie7 ... Super-Magician
It is impossible for all intents and purposes to remove IE6 in XP. If you slipstream IE7, you are in essence removing IE6. Unfortunately, HFSLIP only integrates it because slipstreaming created problems. On the other hand, I don't see any reason why you would want to remove it.
