Build Tag on Win2000 + XP

Hello Folks.

I've just spent some time searching for the file/s responsible for displaying the build

tag on the system properties on both a Win2000 system plus XP.

I've read it on a post here some time ago, but after reading an hours worth of

useless search results i've decided to ask in a post, & no doubt be flamed for doing so

as is always the case.

Once youv'e finished insulting me you can post what file/s is responsible..

Thanks.!

Is this what you are looking for? Post or the post that follows it?

DL

Edit: I used +"build number", 365 days or older and by post. Listing by topic did bring up a ton of answeres.

Thanks for the reply there DL, but that wasn't the post I was looking for...

When I searched I used the term ""+edit+build+tag"" but still got an amount of posts

that would have taken me a full day to read...

No there was a file that was in some way connected to the control

panel that had something to do with the build tag & little pic seen when

right clicking on "My Computer" & choosing properties , {From memory}

I believe you're referring to OEMLOGO.BMP and OEMINFO.INI.

There's a full guide to how it works available here.

No not that one either, thanks for the reply though, I mean the little pic of the

computer above the OEM pic in the properties box, I sure I read somewhere

here 2 to 3 years back, that a file was responsible for that pic + the build tag.

That would be sysdm.cpl, found in Windows\system32.

The bitmap in question is #1033. (Which can be edited using a Resource Editor).

If that is what he is looking for then he might be interested in this topic.
