Guys, it seemed that every Framework received its parts of attention from you, except tme third. Why no-one created the unattended setup for it? I don't see it here, I don't see it on Ryan's forum, no releases, no single request. What is so special about it?

try doing a /? and see what switches it gives to install.

also, i have read that if you extract it is only .net2 with hotfixes and an update file - do a quick search and see what happens

FWIW .NET Framework 3.0 is a little bit misleading of a title IMHO. When you get down to it, it's really just some additional libraries that require .NET 2.0 Framework. Unfortunately one part of .NET 3.0, the Windows Communication Foundation, has some sort of issue with .NET 1.1 SP1 in terms of the installation routine. You must have a reboot after installing .NET 1.1 SP1 prior to installing the .NET 3.0 components because of a file lock issue.

I spent far too many hours trying to work around the issue and finally settled on two step process if you want to have everything .NET installed. It's not optimal, but it works.

can you explain the process so we can build or own or try some workarounds for it? thanks...
