Spartanicus Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I'm a bit nervous about using the nLite customized w2k CD to install to my 2 partition machine with currently W98 on c: and another w2k installation on d: I'm looking to replace my current W98 install with w2k (via a fresh install), after that fresh install XP on my d: partition. With the w2k GUI setup I get a warning that I can't upgrade W98 to w2k due to multiple OS's being installed, this assures me that it has recognized my multi boot config and will probably preserve the MS bootloader. I don't get that warning with the nLite generated w2k CD, and it occured to me that should my bootloader get removed I wouldn't know how to get out of that pickle.Any reassurences that my bootloader will be safe?
jaclaz Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Any reassurences that my bootloader will be safe?NO, but you should ALREADY have another alternative way to boot your system, like a floppy made along thiese instructions:http://www.xxcopy.com/xxcopy33.htmAND a backup of the data. jaclaz
