I use nlite to integrate Explorer 7 in Windows XP SP2. Work fine.

After Windows installation at first boot I need to wait much at welcome screen. Anyone has the same problem ?

I start Explorer and ask me I want to set explorer as default browser. Why windows ask this question, Explorer7 update not replace Explorer 6 ?

Thanks ! :)

No, IE6 is not removed. I don't really want to remove components from windows, what exactly I need is integrate IE7 and add some hotfix. Nothing more...

If IE6 is removed is not a problem for other applications ? Other applications use instead of IE6 automaticly the new IE7 as dependency ?

Do not remove IE6!

If its asking for default browser, the same happened to me upgrading

Windows 2000 from IE5 to IE6, it says its not the default... so look here

in the registry:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

Make it so these two entries say yes and no as it is here:

"ShowedCheckBrowser"="Yes"

"Check_Associations"="No"

Heres the exact reg script, it should work on IE7...

;Do not pop up message "Internet Explorer is not the default browser"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"ShowedCheckBrowser"="Yes"
"Check_Associations"="No"

I have the same behaviour. It takes so much time before moving to the devices detection part of the setup! I had not yet isolated that IE7 was the one, I thought it could come from all the hotfixes also integrated.
