hi all

can any one help me please to remove or uninstall the windows media player 10 under windows server 2003 ??????

i really need that cause it sucks,

i hate all its handlers in the right click context menu for supported file types and i can't remove them,

in addition that it always steels the icons for supported files from my favourite player

please i need help even if i'll do this manually

Well, in XP it's ...

Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components

Not sure if it's the same with Server 2003.

Hello,

It could also be under Change or Remove Progams in the Add or Remove Programs screen with Server 2003. I can't remember if 2003 came with 9 or 10 pre-installed.

Regards,

Dan

Well, considering that unchecking the Windows Media Player option doesn't actually uninstall it at all on XP (it hides all icons and clears file associations, but the binaries are all still on disk and registered in the registry), I'm not surprised you aren't given the option on Server 2003. We won't go into the discussion of why a server OS needs a media player (even TS you'd never want to stream or view media over RDP), but anyway...
