gettyless Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Lets say you have all the drivers and XP updates you want on your cd - you're done and the iso is there. Now, you buy a new computer 5 months later -- so you want to add the new drivers and recent XP updates into your old iso.I was thinking - sure, just fire up nlite and add the stuff I need. Problem is, I think the drivers get installed twice - and the amount of drivers I have in there (to handle 6 models of machines) mutiplied by two, means I end up with more than 700MB. Is there a way around this? Do I always have to start with a clean source directory (the original copy of XP) before any of this done?
Jeremy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'd recommend that you do start fresh each time.
LLXX Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Use Optimise ISO option to remove redundant file data.See unattended/multiboot-cd forum for more information.
ZileXa Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 It's a hard rule you ONLY use nLite on a clean windows setup. You could checkout the driverpacks, they can be updated easily.
