September 15, 200322 yr After installing Win2k3 again, suspecting a game wasn't working on Win2k because of the OS, I ran into what I think is an incompatibility with Vice City and Win2k3.With Windows 2000 Professional, I'd never get the LOADING screen during gameplay so that it could finish loading textures etc in the area.. but with Win2k3 it seems to do it all the time. Evidently it can't calculate the circle of detail or however the game handles loading... and was curious if any of you would have ideas for fixing this? I've tried compatibility modes, but no go.Gonna go crazy if I end up installing Win2k again...
September 16, 200322 yr If you're using an Nvidia card, make sure you have the patch for it. And make sure you have any other patches the Rockstar released for the game. If all else fails, go back to 2k It's not like 2k is bad.. hell, it's ALMOST as good as 2k3.
