-36 Windows XP Service Pack 2 Hotfixes

-7 Internet Explorer update

-CD-ROM copy protection update

-Microsoft Virtual Machine update

-Windows Script 5.6 update

Before you run this, you should install Windows XP Service Pack 1 for better results.

You have two choices about using this auto-patch. They are

sp2_patch.bat  Install all fixes and updates without hotfixes's backup so you cannot uninstall any hotfixes.

sp2_patch_uninstallable.bat  Install all fixes and updates with hotfixes uninstallation so you can uninstall any hotfixes that you want to.

An unofficial pack which I wouldn't use, personally I would wait until MS release the Security Rollup Package on the 24th.

Could we have a look at the two batch files though?

the Security Rollup Package, will be able to be slipstreamed into the XP install just like SP1 or will we have to wait fot the full SP2? and thats not due tll mid next year.

I've seen that pack. It is just a collection of the post SP1 hotixes, and a batch to run them all (quite similar to the batch files used here). It offers no more than the many batch files posted here for the same purpose. Question is: Do you want to download your patches from MS, or deadknightz?

According to Spheris, it can't be slipstreamed into the Windows XP CD.

That does not help; not being able to slipstream. The download size would be more or less the same. The posted link is a RAR and I doubt MS would use RAR to keep the file size down.

Maybe they will change their minds ..

Webmedic's slipstream method errored on IE updates for some reason.

38MB is an hour or two on dial-up.

lol yes make sure you have the latest versions of your software installed before you try ito install a patch for a version you dont have installed. There is part of the problem. There is no way that I know of yet to slipstream the newer version of ie into the install so there is no way to apply that hotfix since the latest version of ie has not been slipstreamed first.

on a side note the script is only for hotfixes at this point and not for apps. this method does not support fully things like dx9 or .net or anything other than critical updates . All the other regualr updates are not ment to be installed this way and it is not my script micrsoft programed them that way.

.net is so funny it wont even be integrated untill sp3. They have to completely rewrite it for that also.

having said that there are ways to kind of integrate these things but I want the current version stable first before I start adding .net and dx9 and a few other things. The next version will be allot more fun and things for you all to try out. I'll also see if I can provide a way to do a few other things that are not supported right now.
