krose Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 MS has apparently issued a new cab file for Office Update, Tomcat's link was to OPUC3.cab, new version is OPUC4.cab. I placed the file in HFCABS and HFSLIP ran fine. About halfway through the file copying portion of the Win2K install I get an error message that Windows can't copy opuc.dll file. Any ideas?
Tomcat76 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Thanks for that. The new opuc.dll has a bad header. I'll let HFSLIP run MODIFYPE on it.You can expect a new version soon (with several other updates)...
krose Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 Thanks for the quick fix. Now to test!
zedox Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Just tried this with 1.1.0 with WinXP SP2got the copy error.
Tomcat76 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 You need modifype.exe in HFTOOLS.But I see why you never knew this: HFSLIP only alerts you for a missing modifype.exe if you use the HFEXPERT feature.Thanks.
3398495 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I have the same problem: I got an error message that Windows can't copy opuc.dll file.I read also the reply: "Fixed in 1.0.4rc5...".But I cannot understand what does it mean. Maybe it is a software rev. 1.0.4rc5: but in this case where can I find it?Thanks
Tomcat76 Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Please read my previous post in this thread, as well as the full changelog and my dynamic hotfix list (in case you're using that). All of those will tell you what's needed for the new OPUC4.CAB to be supported.HFSLIP version 1.0.4rc5 was a release candidate. The current stable version that came after that is 1.1.0.
