jcarle
But DVD-Rs only last a few years. The risk of the data layer undergoing chemical change, or peeling... no thanks. I remember reading a study they did using high quality verbatim media, stored under ideal conditions, in the dark... at 6 years, the data was readable. At 7 years however, data loss was starting to occur and it was near impossible to read discs without defects.
nitroshift
Well guys, it's working now ok. Got a brand new hdd and made a new array in RAID1 (mirror). It was time for a Windows upgrade too, so this was my chance. Anyway, I'm running now 2003 server x64 R2 and all my data back on the server. Thank God I had a few drives around where I saved the data....
