tsk Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 (edited) I get error message like in attachment, trying to install MBSA. Of course, install doesn't proceed so I can't install it.Setup filename is MBSASetup-EN.msi.XPSP2 made with nLite 1.2.1 - now, which setting(s) in nLite might be responsible for this error and how to fix it - anyone knows?here is actual error message: Edited November 12, 2006 by tsk
Camarade_Tux Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 MBSA has a lot of dependencies (Workstation, Automatic Updates, BITS, see my sig for some others)Consider using HFNetChk : http://www.download.com/HFNetChk-exe/3000-...4-10173801.htmlMBSA is based on it but is much better when using an nlite install because it only reports exploitable flaws : if a file that once had a flaw is missing MBSA will report it though your system is secure.(windows messenger has a flaw, if you have removed it with nlite, your system is secure; MBSA will report a "patch not installed", HFNetChk won't)Plus HFNetChk can be more verbose and is faster.
tsk Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 Camarade_Tux: thanks, had no idea MBSA needs needs so many deps (which I'm missing ofc). Will check out HFNetChk, then. Thanks for the tip.
