Try disabling Norton AV so that it does not load when you cold boot the server and if that solves the problem then it is the old problem with NAV and the IP addresses. In that case you will have to re-assign the addresses.

Do you use a internal DNS server ?

check the config of the dns server than...

It possible that al your requests go first on the internet and then to your server....

can it be that the server automatically disconnects the users after a certain ammount of time?? cause thats how it looks like. After some time, I cant access the network drive anymore, nore the server in the "my network" places. If I restart, everything works fine again. If this is tru, how can I disable this feature??'

I'm useing server2003 standard edition
