d1ck Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I've just installed vista last night on my machine, and today when i finally took the dvd out, i noticed that my computer won't boot without the dvd in the drive. Without it, I simply get a DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." I'm thinking that maybe the boot sector or mbr needs to be repaird, but i'm not familar with how to do this in vista. Thanks a lot.
Paraglider Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Boot from the vista boot dvd and select the repair option.
kartel Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Oh no, hopefully you didn't install over it again.I would say you boot options in the bios, select drive 0 or ide 0, disable boot from cd.
