this is all i get safe mode not working or anything.

boot to the command console or from a BartPE cd etc and check your boot.ini file, sounds like it's either corrupted, missing or has the wrong path to your windows installation.

I would say the easiest thing to do is to perform a repair installation of xp. Unless you know specifically what hal your computer uses.
