XP recovery

I am trying to run the Recovery mode from my XP cd and it is asking for an adminstrative password after I hit the r for recovery. Any idea if the password is a common one Microsoft uses?

The admin password is the password you choesed att he first time you installed the OS.

yeah, it should be the password you use to login into your xp account on the startup screen.

It depends what version you have.

For XP HE, the default built-in Administrator account has NO password. Just press ENTER.

For XP Pro, it's the password you setup for the built-in Administrator account, not any other admin user account that you create afterwards or use to logon.
