  1. If you don't find it at microsofts site then it probably doesnt exist in a swedish version. I have (i think) every swedish Hotfix/software update since sp2 was released and the KB905474 isn't one of the. I doesn't even show up as a hotfix/software update installed after using windows/microsoft update after installing a fresh XPsp2 whit all hotfixes/software updates integrated.
  2. Can you attache your .sif file?
  3. I know that I would sell my soul lf I register.. It would be nice if would work.
  4. The admin password is the password you choesed att he first time you installed the OS.
  5. crackhead came up with the bright Idea that putting eaven more resourec hog's in it's OS? An operating system should be plain simple and stable. No Themes or 3D effekts and so on. Do one copy that is bare to the bone with the stuff needed to get it to work. If you want to use themes then youl have to buy another disk (+pack). Paying 1000-3000kr(swedish kr) for a bunsh of thrash that youl manualy hav to remove with Nlite is a rip off How ever start working on Vistas security and put all other work on visuialsion and such on suspend untill Vista is compleatly Secured.
  6. Could it be that i have removed something that regwizc.dll needs to work?
  7. yep done that.. didn't help at all...
  8. This shouldn't really be a problem since it really doesn’t fill any purpose.. But... Activation of My XP works as it should. Registration however doesn't. The error message below shown in the attached picture Now registration is not necessary and I don't even know if I really want to registrate. But if I decide to do so it would be nice if the whole registration process worked.
  9. It says some where in nLite that don't remove it if you don't know if you need it(or something like that). So are you unsure don't remove it. If you are unsure and still remove it and something goes wrong you'll only have you're self to blame.
  10. What DX9c file do you use?? To me itsound like youhav the online installatione file and not the redistributle(offline) version.
  11. I could mail you the rc8i verison. The ¤#%?#¤"% forum wouldn't let me attache it....
  12. Try this one instead [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\BrowseNewProcess] "BrowseNewProcess"="Yes"
  13. Since you don't describe the error message it's hard to help you. Check if any card (grafik, sound, netvork) has "jumped" out of it's PCI/AGPPCI-E/ISA slot. Test with another pair of ram. btw make sure that the ram and Motherbord are compatible.
  14. I'm no expert but shuld it really bee ä - ind thise line? "Welcome"="- %COMPUTERNAME% I made the - read so itwoud be easier to findit.
  15. replace the acpi.sy_ on your DVD with the acpi.sy_ from your WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-***.exe and see if that helps. Replace it just before you let nLite make an bootable iso of your dvd. It seems that something nLite does corupts your acpi.sy_ Check the file versions and size of your acpi.sy_(s) files on both the original CD and on your nLited cd and the one you find in the WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-***.exe eg. windows\system32\drivers\acpi.sys 5.1.2600.2180 187 776bytes WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-***.exe 5.1.2600.2180 187 776bytes XP cd with sp2 5.1.2600.2180 187 776bytes if the file have the same size and version on at all three places then there might be something else that is wrong also see if there is an BIOS update availible for your motherboard. or test your RAM with memtest86 since memory problem can cauce alot of error without letting you know that it is the memory that is behind all evil that happens to you...
  16. hmm.. so no numbers given in the blue screen of death? Try this: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACPI\Parameters Note If the Parameters subkey does not exist, right-click ACPI, point to New, and then click Key. Type Parameters as the subkey name, and then press ENTER. 3. Right-click the Attributes entry, and then click Modify. Note If the Attributes entry does not exist, right-click Parameters, point to New, and then click DWORD value. Type Attributes as the entry name, and then press ENTER. 4. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click Hexadecimal, type 100 in the Value data box, and then click OK. 5. Quit Registry Editor. if that won't help then.... Have you been able to burn DVD's before you tried to burn your XP cd? If not then there might be a setting or two in your BIOS that isn't correct or that your BIOS(motherbord doesn't support DVD-recorders. Then it might work if you update your BIOS. You can also try to extract WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-***.exe and then extract the acpi.sy_ eg. expand acpi.sy_ acpi.sys and replace the acpi.sys in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ since acpi.sys is loaded with XP you might have to replace it in DOS mode but if i remeber correct DOS also load that file at startup so you'll have to try and try again untill you succedes. if none of the above helps then I have no clue on what you'll have to do next..
  17. Do you get an error message other then that Acpi.sys is broken? eg. 0x00000000 ??
  18. I don't think that it is possible to get past the validation of previous windows version.. If it were possible then why even bother to make an upgrade version?
  19. I'm no expert so I might be wrong but.. If you put: DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore in your Winnt.sif it might solve your problems with devices that won't install properly..
  20. From wich version are you trying to create your Unattended CD? XP home Full retail? XP home OEM? XP pro full retail? XP pro OEM? try removing "AutoActivate = Yes" from your Winnt.Sif Don't put "AutoActivate = NO" in your Winnt.sif instead. NO: [unattended] AutoActivate = Yes UnattendMode = FullUnattended OemSkipEula = Yes OemPreinstall = Yes TargetPath = \WINDOWS Repartition=No FileSystem = * WaitForReboot = No UnattendSwitch = No NoWaitAfterTextMode = 1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode = 1 KeyboardLayout="US" YES: [unattended] UnattendMode = FullUnattended OemSkipEula = Yes OemPreinstall = Yes TargetPath = \WINDOWS Repartition=No FileSystem = * WaitForReboot = No UnattendSwitch = No NoWaitAfterTextMode = 1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode = 1 KeyboardLayout="US" It might not help but it might be worth a try. I don't have AutoActivate in my Winnt.sif and it works fine for me.
  21. I posted an answer her for your other post.. So i removed it. Posting in your other post instead.
  22. I know that alot of program puts files in All user and that is the problem. I don't want any files in other Folders then the three mentioned in the post above. If default user only exist so you can create new users then I don't need it and don't want it since I'm the only user on my computer. Hide them is not an option since they still exists. There should be a way to point All user and Default user to another directory just as you can do with eg. Temp folder. (One temp for each user or one temp that all users use). Thanks for your reply's..
  23. Is there a way to remove All User and Default User from C:\Documents and Settings in an unattended installation? If so is there a way to prevent them from being created? This is how I want it to be. C:\Documents and Settings\Ancaria C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService
  24. I think that I've read someware that it's not possible to remove "remove" from right klick context menu.. So.. Is it possible or is it not.. If it's not then is it possible to atleast change the location of "remove" in right klick context menu?
