RC1 Locks up when copying files.

I'm having some issues with vista.. i just installed it over my xp install.. vista made a windows.old folder and dumped all the xp files there. don't have a dvd drive on that computer so i wasn't able to format.

but i was trying to copy a folder over from a different partition of the hdd which the folder is about 7gigs.

it starts copying fine and the computer locks up about 10-25%

after fighting with this for a while i decided to pull the ram out and it copys fine with both sticks when they are by themselfs but when both sticks are in vista locks up.

i also had this problem when trying install ffxi i was able to get it to work after setting the appearence to classic.

what do you think the issue might be??

I also noticed my computer freezing up when I downloaded a 1.7g file.

When it finished downloading, it copied to the destination folder and at the end, froze for a few minutes.

Nothing would respond, then everything i clicked, just popped up and was ok.

Ya it works real good, just the huge downloads, when they move from the temp file to the destination folder at completion.
