I have installed Windows 2003 Server and tweaked it to act as a workstation. All works well except that when I open a folder in the left pane of Windows Explorer there is quite a long delay in displaying the contents in the right pane. The more contents the longer delay. At times it even stops responding. This does not happen when I display drive contents. Any ideas or suggestion?

Thanks

I have been getting the same thing only with XP Pro. I fell your pain. If I ever figure out what happened I will report it. This has only been going on with my system for the past 3 or 4 days......

Trust me .. its omnipitant within windows.

Try this:

Open up explorer.

Open up your task manager to the perfance tab

Now, with that open, left click on a file in explorer (any file, doesnt matter) then right click it. Notice the CPU usage. Nothing strange right?

Now, right click a file, witout left clicking it first, and observe your CPU usage.

What do you notice?
