ripken204
well this is what im thinking for you...for mobo you have a choice, some like the ds3, some like the dfi, there is also an asus 965 available. but you may want to wait till the n590 chipset comes out, its pretty promising. as for vid card, you have your choices again, u can wait a month until the x1950xtx is widely available, as that card should be the top preformer out there. for hdd, i just have a 320gig there for you, thats the best price/performance/size hdd out right now, if you want more of them or a raptor then go ahead. the ocz gamexstream 700w is prolly overkill, go for the 600w if u want to save some money, or an enermax liberty if you prefer them.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------cpu : Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Allendale - 339$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819115003case: your choice - 150$mobo1: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Intel P965 - 149$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813128012mobo2: DFI INFINITY 975X - 185$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813136168vid card1: x1950xtx - ~450$http://techreport.com/reviews/2006q3/radeo...tx/index.x?pg=1vid card2: sapphire X1900XTX - 374$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102672vid card3: evga 7950GX2 - 535$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130023ram: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB ddr800 - 292$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820145590hdd: Seagate Barracuda 320gig sataII perpendicular recording - 95$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148140dvd drive: nec 3550a - 29$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827152058psu: OCZ GameXStream 700W- 155$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817341002heatsink: scythe infinity - 58$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835185027total= $2000-$2500

puntoMX
It would help if you tell us EXACTLY what you going to do with the hardware, except for writing something in notepad and putting the monitor on a table .Also tell us if you want a screen with it, or any other hardware around the PC. 4g4d4u
im not really looking to do anything with the computer other than write in note pad and solitare. i also might need a dot matrix printer and a 5 1/4" floppy drive? im primarily goin to be using it for gaming and multimedia and deffinately school work. softwares not really an issue just hardward. all im really looking for advice on is a tower and the components within that would allow me to play most if not all games out without running into the complications im facing with my current computer. some of the games i intend to run are HL2 series, CS:S, WoW, oblivian, and battlefeild. as my interest changes with the wind so will the games i play and like i said above i dont want to have to worry about buying games around my configuration
