Does Anyone know what number to call in order to purchase/recive downgrade cds

our school has a volume lisence of windows xp pro and we wanted to us windows 2000 on one, and windows me on another (part of a computer history class) although if we qualify for windows 98/95, we would do it, instead of pirating it :)

also, if it cost $$, can someone give me # and details on how it works

thanks

Microsoft does not facilitate downgrade paths. They don't generally make it easy.

You need to backup the important data and install a fresh copy of the OS you want.

It depends on your agreement with Microsoft, but downgrades are possible with certain volume licensing agreements. If you've got a contract with Microsoft, you should have a TAM you can contact to assist you with this. If not, contact the sales department to get you in touch with someone who can determine your license and whether or not this is permissable, and if so, make it happen for you.

Many dealers and wholesalers around the country got stuck with original copies of the older OS's.

They are very anxious to get rid of them and you'll find quite a few copies for sale on eBay.

Your local, independent, computer dealer may even have some.

You need to backup the important data and install a fresh copy of the OS you want.

Yup, that's the best way to go about it.

Good Luck,
