BoardBabe Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 My laptop keeps reconnecting/dropping my MIMO wlan connection, although signal is perfectly good. The "Now connected to XX" bubble keeps appearing every now and then. Signal is 100%.Linksys WRT54GX latest FW WEP128 onBelkin True MIMO Pre-N PCMCIAWindows XP Pro
rendrag Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 might that pre-n device not work 100% with 802.11g? The driver might be flaky
RogueSpear Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I don't yet have any experience with pre-n hardware, but from everything I've been reading lately, mixing vendors isn't always going to work out. Also a few things I have noticed with WiFi in general - if there are other wireless clients within range, but not a part of your specific wireless network, you can get these intermittent reconnects. I've never lost a connection or had an application crap out on me, but I get that little bubble in the corner periodically and I'm somewhat convinced that it's due to a couple of nearby wireless enabled laptops that are not a part of my wireless network.I'm not sure if you took a break for a little while, but it's nice to see you around again in any case
